Hi, I'm Maeve - an illustrator based in East Sussex, taking inspiration from the world around me. From what started as a silly hobby has now grown into my passion, and I hope to reach and connect with others who have a similar love for art as I do.
Being an artist with aphantasia, I occasionally find creating difficult - my imagination is all there, but sometimes my brain just doesn't quite catch on. But, as I continue to practise and improve my skills, I'm finally finding myself in my art. Experimenting with deeper meanings and drawing ideas from varied sources has pushed my work in a new direction, and I'm enjoying this new leaf of mine.
I love to design illustrations around animals and nature, with an added touch of 'whimsy'. Once being so scared of color, I now like to utilise vibrant hues alongside texture and mark-making to create my pieces. Textiles are a newer interest of mine, but it feels like the finishing touch my work desperately needs.
