This piece was the first I created in this new found style of mine.
I created this piece digitally with textured brushes, initially focusing on drawing and rendering the horse in a realistic but sketchy style. I then worked on the background, utilising an underpainting of hot pink to contrast with the green fields the horse stands in. I shifted the hues to add more visual depth to my scene, finishing with some drawn elements to add detail. I finished by using a digital paper texture over the top to add more of a traditional quality.
Exploring textiles further in my craft, I printed the piece out and glued on different tubular beads, before scanning it back in and cutting the beads and shadows out and adding them back to the digitized version, which meant I was able to preserve quality.
I believe this design would work well in many contexts, such as greetings cards or notebook covers.
